Invisalign

Are you or your child needing orthodontic treatment but are hesitant about the idea of traditional metal braces? Look no further than Comeaux & Stonestreet Dental Group in The Woodlands and Benders Landing, where we offer Invisalign, a clear and convenient alternative to braces.

Invisalign is a system of clear, removable aligners that gradually move your teeth into their desired positions. Unlike traditional braces, Invisalign aligners are virtually invisible, making them a great option for anyone who wants to straighten their teeth without drawing attention to their smile.

But Invisalign isn't just for adults - it's also an excellent option for kids and teens who may be self-conscious about wearing braces. Invisalign Teen is specifically designed to meet the unique needs of younger patients, with features like compliance indicators that let parents and dentists know if the aligners are being worn as directed.

One of the best things about Invisalign is its convenience. The aligners can be removed for eating, brushing, and flossing, making it easy to maintain good oral hygiene during treatment. And because there are no brackets or wires to adjust, you'll spend less time in the dentist's chair for adjustments.

Invisalign is also an excellent option for adults who missed orthodontic treatment earlier. Many adults hesitate to get braces because of how they look, but with Invisalign, you can straighten your teeth without anyone knowing. Plus, since the aligners are removable, you won't have to worry about changing your diet or lifestyle to accommodate braces.

At Comeaux & Stonestreet Dental Group, we are committed to providing our patients with the best possible orthodontic care. If you're interested in Invisalign or any other orthodontic treatment, we would happily schedule a consultation and discuss your options. Give us a call today to get started!

A chemically activated power-whitening gel is used to whiten teeth. It takes just 40 minutes to complete the procedure. Chemical activation of the potent 40% hydrogen peroxide is not required to make it work. The unique double-syringe design ensures that the clinician activates every dose of Zoom!. Cosmetic dentistry is a branch that focuses on improving the appearance of a person's teeth, mouth, and smile. This can be achieved through various procedures, including teeth whitening, veneers, bonding, and braces.

One of the most popular cosmetic dentistry procedures is teeth whitening, which involves bleaching the teeth to remove stains and discoloration. This can be done at a dental office or at home with over-the-counter products. Teeth whitening is a quick and easy way to improve the appearance of a person's smile, and it is relatively inexpensive compared to other cosmetic procedures.

Veneers are another popular cosmetic dentistry option. These are thin, custom-made shells placed over the teeth' front surface to improve their appearance. Veneers can be used to cover up stains, chips, and gaps in the teeth, and they can also be used to correct the shape and size of the teeth. Veneers are made of porcelain or composite resin and designed to look and feel like natural teeth.

Bonding is another cosmetic dentistry procedure that involves using a resin material to repair or improve the appearance of the teeth. The resin is applied to the teeth and then shaped and hardened to create a natural-looking finish. Bonding can be used to fill in gaps between the teeth, repair chips or cracks, and even change the shape or color of the teeth.

Braces are another option for improving the appearance of the teeth. These are used to correct misaligned or crooked teeth and can be either traditional metal braces or clear aligners. Braces apply gentle pressure to the teeth to move them into their proper position over time. While they are most commonly associated with children and teenagers, adults can also benefit from braces to improve the appearance of their teeth and bite.

In addition to these procedures, cosmetic dentistry can include gum contouring and reshaping, tooth reshaping, and dental implants to replace missing teeth. Gum contouring involves the removal of excess gum tissue to expose more of the tooth, creating a more balanced and symmetrical appearance. Tooth reshaping involves the removal of small amounts of tooth enamel to alter the shape or length of the tooth. Dental implants are artificial teeth surgically implanted into the jawbone to replace missing teeth.

While cosmetic dentistry can improve the appearance of a person's teeth and smile, it is essential to note that dental insurance does not always cover these procedures. Additionally, some cosmetic procedures may require multiple visits to the dentist, which can add to the cost.

Despite these potential drawbacks, many people choose cosmetic dentistry procedures because of their benefits. A beautiful, healthy smile can improve self-confidence and make people feel more successful in their personal and professional lives. In addition, cosmetic dentistry can also have functional benefits, such as improving a person's bite and ability to chew food properly.

Overall, cosmetic dentistry is a great option for people looking to improve their teeth' appearance and smile. With the variety of procedures available, there is sure to be an option that meets the needs and budget of most individuals. If you are considering cosmetic dentistry, it is crucial to speak with a qualified and experienced dentist to determine the best treatment plan for you.

Periodontal Therapy

Periodontal disease, often referred to as gum disease, is an inflammatory condition affecting four out of five American adults. Unfortunately, many people don’t even realize they have it, often because they ignore the symptoms and cannot see the infection nor feel any pain. Periodontal disease is the leading cause of tooth loss, but the ill-effects of inflammation extend beyond your mouth and smile.

Treating & Preventing Gum Disease

The traditional approach to periodontal therapy is to simply clean the teeth and roots, and if that fails, to perform surgery. At Comeaux & Stonestreet Dental Group we begin with a deep cleaning.

The mouth is treated in quadrants under local anesthesia, we also offer calming nitrous oxide upon request for anxious or fearful patients. Treatments are scheduled one week apart and are generally comfortable. While the patient is comfortably numb the hygenist is able to access the rootsurface to remove the bacterial build up.   After an initial assessment, an individualized treatment plan will be outlined for you to support your immune system’s healing response during the regenerative periodontal treatments.

We have witnessed great results in periodontal therapy using our approach and remedies. We always encourage a healthy regimen of home care by teaching our patients how to care for their teeth and gums, followed by more frequent professional cleanings. We have seen our patients experience vast improvements in gum health and following an anti-inflammatory diet after periodontal treatment in our office.

Contact our Woodlands and Spring offices if you are suffering from Gum Disease or would like to schedule a routine check.  Our experienced team of Dentist and Dental Hygienists are prepared to help you get on your way to healthier teeth and gums.

Dental Implants

Why Dental Implants?

Dental professionals have been placing dental implants in patients for over 40 years to restore their oral function. Implants are surgical-grade titanium. They can be used to replace one or more missing teeth and offer a permanent solution. Titanium can be used not only for dental implants but also for other medical devices such as hip and knee replacements. Titanium's properties allow bone from the body to integrate with the metal's surface. This is called "osseointergration" and was discovered by Dr. PI Branemark, a Nobel Research Institute researcher in Stockholm, Sweden. Millions of people have experienced an improvement in their quality of life since then.

Dental implants, like many other modern dental and medical technologies, have seen significant improvements over the past few decades. These devices are now more predictable than ever, from the physical design to their surface. In many cases, dentists can offer patients an "immediate function". This allows the patient to leave the surgery site with a temporary tooth. The patient can have their final crown within eight weeks.

Comeaux Dental, in The Woodlands & Spring, uses these advances along with advanced CAT scan technology and sophisticated surgical planning software. This creates an optimal patient experience.

Why choose a tooth implant over a supported bridge?

A tooth-supported bridge can be a good option, but it has some disadvantages that are not present in a dental implant. To cement a three-unit bridge, the dentist will need to remove the enamel from the adjacent teeth. These teeth can become decayed. Human bone requires force to keep it healthy and in its place. A three-unit bridge replaces the missing tooth with a floating tooth suspended between two crowns. This is known as a Pontic. The Pontic doesn't apply any force to the bone and the bone will melt over time. This can cause destabilization of adjacent teeth, hygiene problems, and cosmetic issues

Implants, on the other hand, recreate the natural anatomy of the bone and apply force to it. This helps to keep the bone in its natural place. This allows the dentist to treat adjacent teeth without affecting them.

Research shows that tooth-supported bridges often fail in 15 years. However, most implants last a lifetime when properly integrated. The dental implant is the best choice for most people. It offers a lifetime value, no bone loss, cosmetic appearance, and the ability to not have to grind down healthy nearby teeth.

A patient has two options. The removable bridge is the most popular option. It is only used for temporary purposes by most dentists. Its only disadvantage is its price. A Maryland bridge, or resin bonded, is the second. Although this solution leaves the adjacent teeth unaffected, it can often cause damage and need to be rebonded. They do not address bone loss.

We know that there are multiple dental providers to choose from in The Woodlands and Spring Area so s and the staff at Comeaux & Stonestreet Dental Group are constantly looking for ways to improve the overall experience of our patients. Our offices are conveniently located in both Spring & The Woodlands and we treat patients throughout Montgomery County offering them the opportunity to restore missing teeth in a way that looks natural and beautiful.
